Over the last 20 years Manchester United have been without question England’s most successful football club.
The Old Trafford stadium complex holds a capacity crowd of around 76,000 on match days so represents a huge source of revenue for the club in terms of hospitality. However, supporters expect the same standard of quality and value off the pitch as they are afforded on it!
During the autumn of 2011, the club engaged a team of specialists to upgrade the Red Café Air conditioning and ventilation systems, to be conducted during and around the already congested fixtures including evening European ties.
Dovebrace Ltd provided a successful cost effective tender that offered a solution to the brief, by means of combining heat recovery VRF and Ventilation throughout the Café.
All of the new systems were connected to a centralised controller with full integration to the site BMS and with remote adjustments available via a web link. This allowed the client to make adjustments from either on or off site whilst maintaining time clocking facility to minimise energy consumption.
The club required us to formulate a programme that ensured the facility was always operational on match days and that our presence was to go undetected to their customers. This was achieved with careful planning, management and supervision throughout the project by all the Dovebrace Ltd staff involved.
Bespoke colour coding of all visual air conditioning units was a service provided by Dovebrace to ensure the integrity of the décor was maintained, a real hit with the client!
We delivered the project on budget, and within the project period we anticipated whilst allowing the success to continue at this impressive setting.
